The following services are available at Confidential Counseling, which offer therapy sessions from $60 to $100 per hour depending on client's income: In addition to family, individual, couples and marital therapy, group therapy is sometimes available for depression and sexual abuse survivors. Therapy for children and teens is available, as well as parent-child sessions. Both child and adult Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder therapy is available. We specialize in treatment of depression and mood disorders, including bi-polar, major depression, and situational depressive disorders. We also focus on treatment of trauma, such as post-traumatic stress disorders, victims of rape, survivors of childhood physical and sexual abuse, and survivors of natural and other disasters, as well as chronic occupational stress sufferers and extended grief reactions. Supportive therapy and insight therapy is available.
Mrs. Brantner is a certified Substance Abuse Professional (SAP). Substance abuse assessment and educational sessions are also available.
Mrs. Brantner is a member of The National Association of Cognitive Behavioral Therapists and is a Certified Rational Hypnotherapist.
Mrs. Brantner has extensive training in relaxation training and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Restructuring), both of which are used in treating patients suffering from post-traumatic stress. Rena holds a certification from the American Academy of Experts in Traumatic Stress. She has a masters degree in counseling psychology and is a licensed professional counselor and registered nurse. She is certified in alcohol and drug counseling and has extra training in brief solution focused therapy. Mrs. Brantner worked with Dr. James McGuire, a local family & child psychiatrist, for over two years and is experienced with the use of medications such as anti-depressants, anti-anxiety medications, etc.
Rena graduated from the Hotel Dieu School of Nursing in El Paso, Texas receiving her diploma in September 1966. She received her BSN from the University of Alabama at Huntsville in November 1974 with a minor in psychology and graduate work in Childhood development. She continued her education at Alabama A&M University receiving her Masters in Science in Counseling Psychology in December 1999.
Rena has been married 52 years, and has two children.
